What is Baltic Sea Day?
The day is launched and coordinated by the John Nurminen Foundation and is celebrated every year on the last Thursday in August with various rallies and events. The goal of the theme day is to highlight important marine themes, and encourage people to take concrete action for the Baltic Sea. The Day celebrates the versatility and immeasurable value of the Sea. Moreover, the celebration seeks to disseminate information on marine nature, culture, and history.

The meaning of it for us
It is very important for us and we take it into consideration when we make decisions in our company. We have donated money in order to help the save the it. The picture on the right says ”I am involved in saving Baltic Sea.” If you get inspired and want to also donate money, you can do it here:

The Baltic Sea Day 2023
Everyone can participate in this event on their own way, and there are many ways to do so. Those who are interested in cooking can cook, for example, Baltic Sea Menu by the Martha Organization or create their own menu! Another way to celebrate is by having a Baltic Sea moment. For example, you can read related literature, visit in a sea-themed exhibition or go listen to the sound of the waves. There are many ways! At 18:00, swimming fans can take a dip in the water around Finland and the Baltic Sea. The idea of a dip is to enjoy the recreational opportunities that the waters offer us and at the same time also draw attention to the ecological state of the sea.
This event is for the whole family, and even the youngest members of the family are taken into account! Little-Roach acts as the friend of this day for the children. The fish takes the children on great adventures. The story can either be read or listened to as an audio story. Of course, the action has not been forgotten and children can continue the story in cartoon form. And of course, every child can color their own Little-Roach!
